Can I forward calls to my cell phone?
Certainly! Forwarding calls from your fixed phone to your cell phone is a fantastic feature, especially for those on the go. With Notel, managing call forwarding is a breeze through our cloud-based phone system. You can easily route all incoming calls to your cell phone. Plus, if you need a business telephone number, we’ve got you covered too!
Can I keep my number at Notel, and how does it work?
Your phone number is an asset. Move your number to Notel (We’ll deal with Telkom).
How does it work at notel
- Complete the online ‘Keep your Number’-form. It will generate text for a number porting mandate that will be mailed to you by your Notel contact person. You can print this mandate on your business letterhead and email it to us together with a recent invoice from your current provider, and a copy of the ID of the telephone account holder.
- We’ll then submit the request on your behalf.
After submitting your request, we need to be patient. It can take up to 10 working days to receive approval from your current provider. Your number will remain available and active in the meantime. - Once we have approval from your current provider, we will contact you to coordinate your preferred porting date.
- On the day your number is moved over, we will test it to ensure that your number is working correctly and will be the first to call on your new phone system.
Is VoIP cheaper thean traditional phone systems?
How long does it take to activate?
No time at all! After some (RICA) paperwork is out of your way. We can set up your Notel phone system in one working day. Do you require VoIP phones too? Add an extra day for shipping.

Do I need internet for VoIP?
Yes. VoIP requires a stable internet connection to make and receive calls. Notel VoIP is optimised for business internet connections and can also work with mobile data or LTE backup, helping businesses stay connected even during power interruptions.
Can I use VoIP anywhere?

How does prepaid billing?
You simply transfer an amount of your choice to us, using your “Phone Number” as reference to top up call credit and calls are deducted at our published rates. No surprise bills, no automatic overages, you stay in control.
Can my team work from different countries?
Yes. Your South African number works from anywhere with an internet connection, and extension-to-extension calls between your team are free regardless of where they are.
